Self massage head is a simple, pleasant and very effective procedure. Relaxation, a direct effect on the functioning of the brain, improvement in the condition of the hair and scalp – these are the real advantages of massage. It takes only a little effort and quite a bit of time to take another step towards beauty and health.
It is advisable to massage the head in the morning and in the evening. In the morning, immediately after waking up and before taking a morning shower, a massage procedure will help you wake up gently – gradually, without unnecessary stress. By the way, it is known that a soft awakening is the key to a good mood during the day. Also, head massage is considered one of the most effective ways to get rid of insomnia. In the evening, before going to bed, it will help relieve daytime stress and promote deep and restful sleep.
To achieve the best effect, it is highly recommended to use essential oils in the massage procedure. In addition to the general aromatherapy effect, certain oils have an effective local effect on the scalp, stimulating hair growth and strengthening their structure, positively affecting hair follicles, helping to get rid of dandruff, etc.
For example, sesame oil has been traditionally used in Asia as an excellent hair protectant. Sweet almond oil wonderfully relieves irritation of the scalp after exposure to aggressive environmental factors: strong wind, frost or sun exposure. Rosemary oil has a stimulating effect. Eucalyptus and thyme contribute to the normalization of the sebaceous glands. Black pepper oil is highly recommended for head massage: it stimulates peripheral blood circulation.
If you use oil during your morning massage, you can wash your hair at the end of the procedure so that your hair does not look greasy. After an evening massage session, it is better not to wash off the oil: its healing effect on the scalp will continue all night.
Pour the oil into the palm of your hand and warm it up a little with the warmth of your hands, covering it with the other palm on top. Then apply the oil to a point on the crown of your head – approximately the place where babies have a large fontanel. Next, gradually rub the oil in a clockwise circular motion with your fingers: slowly spreading your fingers and moving down, as a result, you wrap your fingers around your entire head.
Keep your thumbs pressed to the sensitive points behind the ears, and with the rest of your fingers continue to massage the scalp. Next, tilting your head, apply another drop of warmed oil to the point where the skull meets the neck. Slowly massage the entire head in a circular motion with your fingers towards the forehead.
After the entire scalp is saturated with oil, you can continue the massage complex using different massage movements. For example, turning your head to the right and holding it by the forehead with your right hand, with your left hand actively, along zigzag lines, massage the left side of the head and vice versa.
Massage the scalp with the fingers of both hands in zigzag lines from the forehead to the back of the head. Pass with both hands several times, pressing hard with your fingers, like combs, in the direction from the forehead to the back of the head. Clenching your fists and pressing on the temporal areas, make circular movements. Massage your head with the help of the “vice” movement, as if pinching the skin with all your fingers.
The final stage is an intensive massage of the occipital part, alternately with one or the other hand. Price.
